Accessibility statement

A website should be usable without unnecessary barriers.

Website accessibility is built into how Morris Standard designs, develops and maintains this site, with the aim of making it practical to use for as many people as possible, including people who navigate by keyboard, use assistive technology, zoom or enlarge content, or prefer reduced motion.

Practical review

Accessibility is checked in the interface, not only in a checklist.

The in-house review includes keyboard focus, page structure, responsive behaviour and other theme-controlled patterns that affect how the site can be used.

01

Commitment

Website accessibility and the WCAG 2.2 Level AA target.

Morris Standard uses the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 as the main technical reference for this website, with Level AA as the target.

The site has not undergone a formal independent WCAG conformance audit. Morris Standard therefore does not currently claim that every page, component and third-party feature fully conforms to WCAG 2.2 Level AA.

Accessibility is treated as an ongoing part of design, development and maintenance. When a barrier is identified, the aim is to understand its effect, make a proportionate improvement and provide a reasonable alternative where that is needed.

02

Current approach

The theme includes practical accessibility measures across navigation, content and forms.

These measures describe the current Morris Standard theme. Individual third-party services and future editorial content can introduce different requirements and are considered separately.

01

Structure & landmarks

Theme-managed pages use headings, main content landmarks, navigation labels and semantic HTML to give content a meaningful structure.

02

Keyboard & focus

A visible-on-focus “Skip to content” link lets keyboard users bypass the repeated header navigation. Interactive controls receive a visible keyboard focus treatment, and the mobile navigation reports its expanded state and can be closed with the Escape key.

03

Forms & messages

Theme-managed forms use labels, appropriate input types, required-field behaviour and status or alert messages for important submission feedback.

04

Images & decoration

Theme-managed content images use text alternatives where appropriate. Decorative imagery is hidden from assistive technology or given an empty alternative.

05

Responsive content

Layouts are designed to reflow for smaller screens, and text can be enlarged using browser controls without requiring a separate mobile website.

06

Reduced motion

The theme respects the browser or operating-system preference for reduced motion and removes non-essential reveal animation when that preference is enabled.

03

How this was assessed

The statement is based on a theme-level review, with its limits stated.

The Morris Standard theme was reviewed in-house on 22 September 2026 and the current visitor-facing cookie interface was reviewed again on 23 September 2026. The review covered the global navigation, keyboard focus styles, reduced-motion handling, theme-managed forms, image-alternative patterns, semantic page structure and responsive legal-page layouts.

ReviewedTheme PHP, HTML output patterns, CSS and JavaScript behaviour that can be assessed from the codebase.
Not claimedThis was not an independent accessibility certification, comprehensive assistive-technology test or formal statement of WCAG conformance.
OngoingAccessibility can change as pages, plugins, embedded services and content are updated, so this statement will be revisited when material changes are made.
04

Known limitations

No specific accessibility barrier is currently recorded from the in-house review.

The current review has not identified a specific unresolved theme-controlled or visitor-facing third-party accessibility barrier. This is not a certification or a claim that every page and assistive-technology combination has been exhaustively tested.

If you encounter a barrier: please contact Morris Standard. The statement will be updated when a specific issue is identified, and you do not need to wait for a site-wide change before asking for an alternative way to access information or use a service.

05

Help & feedback

Tell Morris Standard if something is difficult to access or use.

If you cannot access information, complete a task or use a feature because of an accessibility barrier, please get in touch. If you need information in a different accessible format, explain what you need and Morris Standard will consider the most practical reasonable adjustment.

It is helpful to include the page or feature involved and what went wrong. Information about your browser, device or assistive technology can help with investigation, but you do not have to provide more personal information than is necessary.
